Prague can be reached easily by car, bus, train, and plane. Public transport in Prague
(see the
English webpages of the Prague Public Transport Company DPP) consists of bus, tram, metro, and train. For information about prices, see these pages on fares.
Consider to buy a three-day pass (costs 310 Kc and you can travel unlimited with bus, tram, and metro) - you will avoid stamping one-way tickets for every trip.
Keep in mind that from the conference venue we advise to take public transport to the welcome cocktail, conference dinner, and after conference party.
To the hotels and conference venue
You will probably have a hotel in the neighborhood of the conference: Diplomat, DAP, Denisa, Masarykova kolej.
- From the airport bus line 119 will get you very close to all of these hotels. Just sit until the end of the line. For hotel Diplomat you will have to walk about 150m in
the reverse direction on the same side of the street. For hotel DAP you will have to walk about 100 further in the same direction until you get to the large roundabout
(called Vítězné náměstí or Victory Square). Masarykova kolej is on the opposite side of the street (across hotel Diplomat). Hotel Denisa is behind Vítězné náměstí.
- If you come by bus, you'll arrive most likely at bus station Florenc. From Florenc, take the metro (yellow line "B", direction Zličín).
Get out at stop Můstek and transfer to line "A" (green line) direction Dejvická - take this metro until the end station, which is Dejvická.
All exits from the metro get you close to the large roundabout called Vítězné náměstí (Victory Square); use this as your point of orientation.
- If you come by train, you'll arrive most likely at main train station Hlavní nádraží. From the main train station, take the metro (red line "C" in the direction Háje).
Get out at stop Muzeum and transfer to line "A" (green line) direction Dejvická - take this metro until the end station, which is Dejvická.
All exits from the metro get you close to the large roundabout called Vítězné náměstí (Victory Square); use this as your point of orientation.
If you are staying at hotel Crowne Plaza Prague, then after you reach Vítězné náměstí, continue along Vitezne and take tram line 2 or 8 to the north
- get out at stop Zelená (after that the tram turns because the line ends there. Right at the point where the tram turns is hotel Crowne Plaza).

Reach Prague by plane
Prague International Airport Ruzyne is just outside of Prague. About 53 airlines offer direct flights from 130 destinations in
52 countries. Transfer from the airport is possible by bus (line 119 goes directly to Dejvice, the conference location) and
taxi.
Prague airport (named Letiště Ruzyně) has two terminals. Terminal 1 serves flight from/to countries outside the Schengen-space. Terminal 1 serves flights from/to countries inside the Schengen-space. The Schengen countries are NOT the same as the European Union countries, see:
http://www.axa-schengen.com/en/schengen-countries. If you pass through luggage pickup and pass/customs-check before 18:00 (sometimes later) then you can buy tickets for public transport at
particular kiosks (they are indicated with public transport sales). To get to your hotel area with the public transport bus 119 from the airport you need only a ticket of 24 Czech crowns
(1 euro, 1.23 US dollar, 0.77 British pound). A taxi will cost much more (typically about 400 Kc). If you choose to travel by taxi, contact the official agents in the arrival hall or the taxi
in the legal taxi zone in front of the arrival halls.
In both arrival halls there are cash vending machines and foreign currency exchange offices. If you have a bank card with Visa/Master you should be able to withdraw money from the cash vending machines.
There are also currency exchange machines. We advise to use the cash vending machines for best exchange rate.
If you are travelling in a group, you may consider reserving a small bus at an official agent point in the arrival hall. Prices vary, but it may be a better alternative to each ordering and paying a taxi.
